Three-car Collision Injures Six and Closes Brooklyn Bridge
|
An early morning crash on Monday sent six people to the emergency room and closed all Brooklyn-bound lanes for more than three hours.
Police say the crash occurred around 5 a.m. and involved three cars. A disabled Honda in the right-hand, Brooklyn-bound lane was hit by a Lexus (also traveling toward Brooklyn), which was then hit by a taxi, Park Slope Patch reports. Photos from Twitter show one of the cars flipped over and resting on its roof.
There were two men in the Lexus, police say. The passenger was ejected from the car and was reported to be in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, according to Patch. The four passengers in the Honda and the driver of the cab-which was not carrying any passengers at the time-were also taken to the hospital. They are all in stable condition, police say. The Lexus driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The Brooklyn-bound lanes of the bridge were closed for more than three hours while police conducted their investigation. The bridge reopened about 8:30 a.m., Patch reports.
